Collection and Use of Information

The WFH is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.

In general, you can visit our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information, unless you fill out one of our online forms.

When you fill out a form to receive website updates or publications, become a member, give a donation, or send a question, we collect personally identifiable information (such as name, address, phone number and e-mail address). This information is entered into the WFH database so we can process your request.

The WFH does not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise retransmit any personally identifiable information we collect online without permission.

E-mail notices: If you subscribed to receive web updates or an e-newsletter, you will be placed on a list to receive periodic communications from the WFH. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions found at the end of each e-mail sent or by sending e-mail to lroy@wfh.org.

Online monetary transactions: All credit card information will be sent using our secure server (Moneris provides secure, online, realtime credit card processing) and cannot be observed by a third party. We value your information and your privacy, and have taken steps to assure that your data is secure with the WFH and that this information is kept confidential.

Discussion forums: In order to use these forums, you are required to provide a username, password, and e-mail address. This information is kept in a separate database, but usernames and e-mails are available to others who access the forum. All information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to share any of your personal information. The administrators of these forums and the moderators are not responsible for the privacy practices of any user. Cookies must be turned on in your browser to participate as a user in these forums. Cookies are used here to hold your username and password and viewing options, allowing you to login.

E-mail pages to a friend: Our website offers a service that allows you to inform friends about information on the site. In order for this feature to function, we ask for e-mail addresses from the sender and for the recipient. We do not store or save these addresses and you will not receive any communication from us as a result of having used this feature.

Visitor statistics: The WFH also collects generic information about visitors to its website. This information does not identify you personally. It includes you internet domain name, the type of browser and operating system used, the web pages you access, and the portal from another website (referring website). This information is necessary for you to be able to view the WFH website pages.
