Message from Claudia Black, WFH CEO/Executive Director – so long, farewell

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

After 15 wonderful years with the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH), the last four spent as CEO/Executive Director, I have decided to step down from my position at the end of October 2011. This is a bittersweet time for me. I love this unique organization and all of the people I have met along the way. I fully believe in the impact and the value of the work of WFH and in its potential to continuously improve care for people with bleeding disorders around the globe and make this world a better place to live. I am very proud of the achievements our team has made over the past few years. We have expanded health care programs to many countries, brought on many new national member organizations, improved our Global Survey, held very successful World Congresses, and enhanced our educational materials and awareness building activities such as World Hemophilia Day, all while substantially increasing our revenues to be able to do more for the community .

I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to lead, work with, learn from, and nurture such a talented, professional, and passionate team at WFH. Our volunteers and Executive Committee are outstanding individuals who are extremely engaged and have inspired me every day.  My journey at WFH has taught me a great deal and allowed me to meet exceptional people in many different regions of the world. To all of you who have welcomed me to your countries, hospitals, and in your homes, thank you! I will miss all of you.

You can be very proud of where the WFH is today and I know that I am leaving the organization in very good hands!

Warm regards,

Claudia Black
