Gordon Clarke Becomes a Member of the Order of the British Empire

In Memoriam

The World Federation of Hemophilia and the community of patients with bleeding disorders are saddened by the passing away of
Ken Poyser on September 7, 2010. He is survived by his wife Darlene, their son Tony and his family.

Ken was a member of the WFH executive committee and has acted as Vice President Finance for many years. He was a quiet man with a vision: find a cure by facilitating hemophilia research with funding. He was made a member of the Order of Canada in December 2008 in recognition for his tireless efforts at the local, national and international levels.

Our deepest condolences to his family and many friends all over the world.

WFH Advocacy Initiative 2006-2010

In 2006, the WFH identified a growing need for training our member national hemophilia organizations (national member organizations, or NMOs) in the area of advocacy and lobbying. Consequently, we introduced a program of targeted Advocacy Training workshops from 2006-2010 for all regions of the world. More



Youth Leadership Program

The WFH is expanding its youth programs to help foster the next generation of leaders in the bleeding disorders community and ensure that they are well prepared to take over a leadership role. The WFH youth leadership program includes fellowships/ scholarships, leadership skills training, and resources for young people. More

WFH Corporate Partners show support on World Hemophilia Day

King of Prussia, PA, and Montreal, Canada, April 16, 2010 —Hemophilia B patients in the developing world will benefit from a recent donation of 1 million international units (IU) of factor IX medication made by CSL Behring to the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH). The donation, channeled through WFH’s United Kingdom chapter, marks World Hemophilia Day 2010 and will support WFH’s progress in improving the diagnosis and treatment of hemophilia in developing countries through its Global Alliance for Progress (GAP) program.
