The WFH annually recognizes the most exceptional organization and treatment centre partnerships. Sponsored by Wyeth, Twin of the Year Awards in 2003 went to:
Cairo-Knoxville
The Cairo Hemophilia Centre and the East Tennessee Hemophilia Treatment Centre established a national hemophilia registry in Egypt and organized training for laboratory technicians and hematologists. The twins worked on national treatment standards and secured greater health ministry funding for hemophilia diagnosis and treatment products.
Jordan-Toronto
The Jordan Blood Diseases Patient's Association's and the Toronto and Central Ontario Regional Hemophilia Society organized a conference and workshops around Jordan for training in advocacy, fundraising, volunteer development, and regional outreach. Jordan-Toronto also produced information materials and helped update a national hemophilia registry.
The WFH gratefully acknowledges Wyeth's seventh year of support of the WFH twinning program.
