Twins of the Year Awards 2005

The WFH annually recognizes the most exceptional organization and treatment centre partnerships with Twin of the Year Awards. The 2005 awards have been won by:

2005 CENTRE TWIN AWARDS

Yerevan-Minneapolis

Fairview University Medical Centre - Minneapolis
Centre of Hematology - Yerevan

Yerevan-Minneapolis trained medical professionals, improved laboratory diagnosis, and distributed treatment products. The twinning reduced Armenia’s mortality rates from traumas and hemorrhaging while increasing the survival rates of newborns with hemophilia A and B.

Casablanca-Caen

Centre d’hémophiles, Hôpital de Caën
Centre Hospitalier Ibn Rochd
Hopital D’enfants – Rabat

Casablanca-Caën established a registry for people with hemophilia, trained medical professionals, and organized a national symposium in Marrakech for improved treatment and care. The twinning advanced Morocco’s hemophilia medical care and identification of patients.

2005 ORGANIZATION TWIN AWARD

Pakistan-Malaysia

Pakistan Hemophilia Patients’ Welfare Society
Haemophilia Society of Malaysia

Pakistan-Malaysia established chapters of the national hemophilia association in all provinces in Pakistan. Despite armed conflicts and other challenges, the twins united the hemophilia community under a central office, in Islamabad, recognized by the federal government. The twinning also conducted patient assessments around the country.
