Santo Domingo - Caracas
Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital – National Hemophilia Centre of Venezuela
Santo Domingo-Caracas achieved outstanding outcomes in their first year of twinning. Joint projects have improved diagnosis, identified new hemophilia patients, and defined national standards of hemophilia care.
Beirut - Geneva
Lebanese Hemophilia Association – University Hospital of Geneva Hemostasis Unit
Beirut-Geneva introduced multidisciplinary treatment to a wide range of health professionals, improved hemophilia diagnosis, and established a patient registry. The twins also helped set national standards for hepatitis C screening and treatment.
Dominican Republic - Venezuela
Foundation of Support to Hemophiliacs – Venezuelan Association for Hemophilia
Dominican Republic - Venezuela lobbied successfully for a central hemophilia treatment centre in Santo Domingo and increased government support for hemophilia care. Other projects include training workshops and identification of new hemophilia patients.
