DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING PROGRAM

Clinical activities: This center is responsible for about 400 patients with bleeding disorders, mainly haemophilia and von Willebrand disease. The fellow is trained for a multidisciplinary team, including 16 staff members. Fellows participate in daily routines at the HTC and gain knowledge of its framework and protocols.

Laboratory activities/research: Diagnostic services to support the centre.

Multidisciplinary activities/research: Clinical activities; laboratory activities/ research; inpatient and outpatient care; orthopaedic surgery/synoviorthesis; dental care/surgery; physiotherapist/rehabilitation; basic nutritional orientation; home assessment; physical training; patient/familiar training; basic management orientation; basic nongovernmental organization frame.

Additional information: The centre has the capacity to train six fellows annually. Training generally takes place in March and September.

Location: Brasilia is the capital of Brazil.
Climate: Tropical
Accommodation (residence, meals, etc...): Fellows stay at a hotel in downtown. Breakfast is included. Restaurants are available close the hotel for other meals.

Language: English, Spanish, Portuguese
Financial assistance: Dependent on WFH funds.
Cost of living (per week): 600 USD
Communications tools for trainees: Computer, Internet access, telephone, library.
