Greetings from Thailand, the Land of Smiles

On behalf of the World Federation of Hemophilia organizing committee, I would like to extend a warm invitation to visit Bangkok for the Hemophilia 2004 World Congress. The Congress is the largest international meeting of members of the global hemophilia community. This is the first time that this congress has been jointly organized and hosted by the World Federation of Hemophilia, the National Hemophilia Foundation of Thailand and the Thai Society of Hematology. Some of the most recognized names and top specialists in hemophilia research have been invited to Bangkok, to ensure that Hemophilia 2004 is the best congress to date.

The cultural program also promises to be special, highlighting Thailand's proud culture and national heritage. The city and the country offer visitors a rich array of golden temples, glittering palaces and museums, superb beaches, world-famous cuisine, and great shopping. Thailand has been named one of Asia's most attractive tourist centers. You’ll be surprised how inexpensive it is to travel to Bangkok. Our modest hotel rates and affordable food and shopping will more than make up for the cost of your airline ticket.  Bring your family and stay longer in this beautiful country.

We look forward to welcoming you all at this important global congress in October 2004.

Dr Parttraporn Isarangkura - Congress President

On behalf of the WFH, I am delighted to invite you to Bangkok for Hemophilia 2004, the XXVI International Congress of the WFH. No other event brings together the entire hemophilia community, including patients and health care providers, under one roof — one lungka — in one of the most exciting and vibrant locations in the world! Come and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the Thai people and get to know other members of a truly global hemophilia community by exchanging ideas and information. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about the advances made with the WFH's Global Alliance for Progress (GAP) project, which will greatly increase the number of people diagnosed with and receiving treatment for Hemophilia in up to 40 developing countries over the next 10 years. I truly hope you can join us for Hemophilia 2004.

Brian O'Mahony - WFH President
