  • Location
      The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) - Exhibition Way, Glasgow, G3 8YW, U.K.

      The SEC is located just outside the Glasgow city centre in the west-end. The campus is accessible by numerous transport options. Click here for more information about the SEC.
  • Accessibility
      The WFH is committed to providing equal access and an inclusive experience to all attendees, in all aspects of business, including meetings and events. This includes participants who have limited mobility and other medical considerations related to a bleeding disorder or other medical conditions. We are pleased to report that the SEC offers accessible facilities to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.

      The WFH has made every effort possible to overcome barriers that could obstruct access to the meetings and events associated with the WFH 2018 World Congress. However, unforeseen circumstances can arise. Please advise the WFH of any such instances so it can make suitable improvements.

  • Transportation
      ScotRail tickets will be offered to all attendees. The ScotRail Conference Rover ticket is valid for five days (May 20-24) unlimited rail travel on all ScotRail services within the Conference Zone (no time restrictions). The ticket can be used for rail travel within the Conference Zone:

      Conference Zone stations: High Street - Glasgow Queen Street - Charing Cross - Patrick - Exhibition Centre (for SEC) - Anderston - Glasgow Central - Argyle Street.
  • Insurance and health care
      We encourage all Congress participants and accompanying persons to consider travel and medical insurance before or when booking your trip to Glasgow. Insurance can cover a loss incurred in the event of cancellation, medical expenses, or damage to or loss of personal effects.

      Please note that comprehensive travel insurance may be required to obtain the visa.
  • ATM machines
      There are two Clydesdale Bank ATMs in the West lobby of the SEC Centre and one on the ground floor of the Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) Hydro arena.
  • Name badge policy
    All Congress delegates, accompanying persons, and exhibitors will receive a name badge upon registration. It is mandatory to wear the badge at all times, during all events, including the cultural event. The badge is necessary to access all Congress sessions and the exhibit hall. A Congress badge is non-transferable. If an attendee loses, misplaces, or forgets their name badge, a handling fee of US$50 will be charged for a replacement name badge. The lost badge becomes invalid when the new badge is issued.

    We do not offer “visitor” badges. If you wish to gain entrance into the Scottish Event Campus beyond any common areas, you will be required to show a badge. Visit the Registration page for more information.
  • Cellular phones and mobile devices
    As a courtesy to all meeting attendees and speakers, all electronic devices must be operated in the silent or vibrate mode during sessions. Devices that ring or beep are strictly prohibited. No cellular conversations are permitted in the meeting rooms.
  • Certificate of attendance
    Certificates of attendance will be provided as of Tuesday, May 22, to Thursday, May 24, upon request at the registration desk onsite.
  • Refreshment breaks and lunch
    Coffee breaks are scheduled from 9:45 to 10:15 and from 15:45 to 16:15, from Monday through Thursday, in Hall 4. Lunch will be provided daily from 11:45 to 12:30. Please note that there will be no lunch and afternoon coffee break on Thursday, May 24.

    Alternatively, a range of light meals, snacks, and refreshments are available in the SEC from the Clydebuilt Bar & Kitchen or at a concession stand for an additional fee.
  • Duplication and recording
    Photography, audio-taping, video recording, digital taping, or any other form of duplication is strictly prohibited in the meeting rooms and the exhibition hall, with the exception of the official WFH 2018 World Congress photographers and video crew.

    Filming at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is allowed at the WFH 2018 World Congress exhibition stand area only with the express permission of the stand host.

    The WFH may photography, film, or videotape meeting participants and visitors for educational and promotional purposes. Registration to the WFH 2018 World Congress is implied consent for the use of the holder’s likeness, voice, or video image for non-commercial promotional purposes.
  • Exhibition
    The exhibition area is located in Hall 4.

    Monday, May 21 9:45 to 18:00
    Tuesday, May 22 9:45 to 18:00
    Wednesday, May 23 9:45 to 18:00
  • Security at the SEC
    Delegates will be allowed to bring handbags, laptop bags, delegate bags, and small rucksacks into the SEC Armadillo and Exhibition/Conference areas in the SEC Centre. Large bags such as suitcases and large rucksacks should be left in the SEC Centre cloakroom.
  • First aid
    The SEC’s well-equipped Medical Centre is located at the east end of the concourse in the SEC Centre. There is also a fully equipped Medical Room on the ground floor of the SSE Hydro arena.
  • Internet hub
    Attendees can check their email, browse the Internet, and charge their mobile devices at the Congress Internet Hub. The Congress Internet Hub is centrally located in Hall 4.
  • Smoking policy
    Please note that smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Scottish Event Campus.
  • Families
    Anyone thirteen years old and older is considered to be an adult, and therefore allowed to participate in all Congress sessions and events. In order to prevent issues with security, participants over the age of thirteen are subject to the standard badge costs and must wear their badge at all times. Child care services are not provided. For private child care, we recommend inquiring with your hotel to see if they offer child care services or contacting a local chilcare agency such as Tinies.
  • Visa
    Foreign travelers coming to the U.K. to conduct temporary business—for example attend a scientific, educational, professional, or business convention or conference—may require a visitor visa.     Please note that all delegates are responsible for all their visa application related expenses. This includes application fees, and potential consultation fees via email or phone.
  • Invitation letter
    International travellers may need a formal letter of invitation to support their visa applications for entry into the United Kingdom. To receive a formal letter of invitation, please fill the invitation request form here.

    Please note the official invitation letter will only be issued if your registration fees are paid in full.
  • Ancillary Meetings/Corporate Events
    Events involving groups of delegates outside the time allocated to the official Congress program are permitted.

    Events that compete or interfere with the Congress program or official cultural and social functions, including the Opening Ceremony, Welcome Reception, Cultural Event, and Farewell Dinner are not permitted. Any activities or meetings of over 40 people are not permitted during this time.
