Clinical activities:  The haemophilia center of the cliniques Saint-Luc is part of the haemostasis and thrombosis unit and division of haematology. The centre assures the regular follow-up of 212 patients with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. Trainees will attend various clinics (adult, pediatric, thrombosis and hemostasis, etc.) and learn about treatment of severe bleedings, identification/confirmation of bleeding disorder, thrombophilia screening, etc.

Laboratory activities/research: Our routine coagulation laboratory performs all tests necessary to diagnose patients with bleeding (and thrombotic) disorders. Trainees will learn about - Observation and understanding of the coagulation assays (PT, APTT, factor assays, Bethesda assay, antiphospholipid antibodies, platelet function testing, whole blood assay such as RoTem and thrombin generation assay, monitoring of anticoagulant therapies…).

Multidisciplinary activities/research: Multidisciplinary meetings; Haemophilia clinics are run by skilled and enthusiastic doctors. We have excellent intra-hospital collaboration and active involvement in clinical research.
