DESCRIPTION OF IHTC FACILITIES

Location: The beautiful city of Vienna is located in the middle of Europe. The haemophilia centre at the general hospital in Vienna, which is close to the city centre, is located on the 6th floor.

Climate: Middle European climate

Accommodation: Accommodation may be available nearby. Availability cannot be guaranteed. With adequate notice, suitable accommodation can be arranged.

Language: All business in the haemophilia centre is conducted in German. Most of the staff speak good or excellent English.

DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING PROGRAM

Clinical activities: 10-15 patients with various coagulation disorders are seen daily. The hemophilia centre is responsible for 300 patients with hemophilia. Close cooperation with the department of pediatrics (Prof. Dr. C. Male). The department of haematology is part of the new Allgemeine Krankenhaus University Hospital, which has 2,200 beds and all medical facilities.

Laboratory activities/research: Routine laboratory diagnosis for all coagulation disorders including molecular analysis in cooperation with the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
