Born in 1981, Dr. di Minno graduated in Medicine in 2006. During the post-graduate school in Internal Medicine, besides the attendance of the Reference Centre for Coagulation Disorders, he began a parallel three-year training at the Rheumatology Unit of the University of Naples “Federico II”.
In addition to an intense scientific productivity about bleeding disorders (mainly hemophilia clinical management, risk of inhibitor development and the following economic impact) and thrombotic disease (atypical sites thrombosis, metabolic syndrome and venous thrombosis, perioperative management of antithrombotic therapy, the clinical management of new antiplatelet and anticoagulant agents), during these years he conceived and carried out a series of projects aimed at evaluation of clinical and molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular risk in patients with chronic arthritides. By involving in these projects, a series of physicians and researchers from different disciplines, he founded the CaRRDs (Cardiovascular Risk in Rheumatic Diseases) study group and, over the past two years, has produced a large number of innovative studies published in international journals. Using clinical and radiological models taken from the rheumatologic experience, he turned his interest in the identification of the “early hemophilic arthropathy”. To this end, he took part in a project for the ultrasound assessment of hemophilic arthropathy.
